Private-pay, or self-pay, therapy allows us to focus on your care without restrictions like mandatory diagnoses, time limits on appointments, or a narrowed range of treatment options. Private-pay therapy allows you to work on healing on your own timeline without worrying about limits set by insurance.

Policies

  • Payment is due at the time of service. Electronic payment methods are accepted for convenience and ease of use.

  • Sliding-scale payments are offered to make therapy more accessible to everyone. Reduced fees are determined using a consistent and equitable approach based on financial factors, such as income.

  • Clients who are uninsured or choose not to use insurance can request a Good Faith Estimate of costs of services. Listed fees apply to private pay or out-of-network clients.

  • The participation of Renewal River in legal matters is not encouraged. If required (by subpoena), preparation, consultation, and testimony are billed at $150/hour, including travel. Payment of these fees may be required up front.

  • Requests for documentation that require more than 15 minutes outside therapy sessions (completion of letters, forms, etc.) are billed at $125/hour, prorated.

  • Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a $100 late fee. This same fee applies to no-shows, unless in the event of an emergency or sudden illness.
